Dear bunnies,
I read something the other day, and it stayed in my head.
It was about how praying for someone can be one of the most beautiful ways to love them.
And I think that is true.
There are people we love, but we cannot always be beside them. We cannot fix everything for them, even when we wish we could.
So we say their name to God instead.
As for me, there is someone whose name I carry quietly in my heart.
The only thing I know to do for him is pray.
Every time his name comes quietly to mind, I bring it to God.
There are things I want him to know. Things I want to place gently in his hands. But some things belong only to God for now.
Sometimes, our prayers become flowers for the people we love.
Small things we wish we could place in their hands.
They cannot fix what is hurting. But they can carry what we cannot always say.
I am thinking of you.
I hope something gentle finds you.
I hope there is still beauty waiting for you somewhere.
So we place those flowers in God’s hands.
He carries them to the parts of a heart we cannot reach.
He knows what each one means.
Maybe you have someone like that too.
Someone you love from a distance. Someone whose heart you wish you could make lighter. Someone who is carrying things they do not tell you about.
You cannot always be there.
You cannot stand beside them in every difficult room. You cannot take every fear from their hands. You cannot solve every problem they face.
And sometimes, that is hard.
Love wants to help. Love wants to fix what hurts. Love wants to take the heavy thing from someone’s hands and carry it home instead.
But there are things we cannot carry for the people we love.
So we pray.
We say their name to God while washing dishes. On the way home. Before sleep comes. In the small spaces between one ordinary thing and another.
We ask Him to give them strength for what they are facing.
We ask Him to make room for peace in their tired minds.
We ask Him to keep them safe. To comfort them. To send them a small mercy when the day has been unkind.
A good conversation.
A little rest.
A door opening.
A reason to keep going.
They may never know how often we have prayed for them.
They may never know that their name has been held quietly before God.
But He knows.
And maybe this is one of the purest ways to love someone: not to ask for credit, not to wait to be thanked, not to pretend we can save them ourselves.
Only to place them, again and again, in the hands of God.
His hands can reach the places ours cannot.
So if someone has been on your heart lately, you do not need to have the perfect words.
You can begin with their name.
God will know what you mean.
May the people you love be held in every place you cannot reach.
